Pose Balls, BeanBags and Prims.......Oh My!

Thank goodness (!) its Friday!

I have spent most of the day working in the new store. The building is complete - just the finishing touches to add....maybe a water feature in the courtyard..... So now I have to add the stock.

Today I made beanbags......big, soft and squashy, in beautiful colours and with such a great TGIF animated poseball in them. They are also waterproof ;-) and fab around the pool or on the beach...drag them anywhere :-)) At just L$150 and 3 prims I think they make a great alternative to armchairs and are just the thing for crashing in after Xmas lunch. Go grab yourself a couple and check out KaiaGaia's new main store at Foale. (SLURL at the top of the blog).

Also a good time to tell you about our next live music gig at Kaia's Heaven...our nightclub in the stars above Amyris. Kaia resident Chi Melson will be singing for us on Friday 19th December at 1pm SLT. Chi has a lovely voice and will be including some Christmas songs in her spot to get everyone in the right mood. It would be wonderful if you could join us......decked out in your finest Christmas gear of course! I will be baking mince pies all week and will even try my hand at a german gingerbread house!! And afterwards there will be dancing and no doubt with Karli around a rodeo bull contest - see if you can beat him! :-)

And a reminder that we have three parcels of land for sale up on Elemi Sim......each 16384sqm with 937 prims each.....purchase price is L$16384 and the weekly tier fee is LS3600. Owners will of course have access to all Kaia facilities. Beautifully terraformed as you have come to expect with Kaia, each parcel is totally private with ocean on 2 sides and mountains and a waterfall on the other 2.....With either sunset or sunrise views the parcel sales include all items on the land. If you love living at Kaia but feel you would like a little more space, prims, independance and control over your land please IM me or drop me an email at kaiablog@hotmail.com.

It would be great if more people would like to contribute to the blog.....if you would like access as an author please let me know and I will send you the permissions.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

What Kaia is to Me

Hello Everyone, Myki Blaisdale here,

I always wondered why you called the place Kaia Meggie, lol, and just to make sure, wasn't the greek term for "Of the earth" Gaia? Hmmm I could be wrong.

But I didn't log in and post here to to debate the origins of the name, I just wanna say what Kaia Estates has meant to me. And also, if this blog gets busy, I'd like to Blog about my tour in Iraq here if we have enough people reading and responding to the different posts.

For me, Kaia has always been kinda a refuge. I'm a furry only in secondlife, no human form here ^,..,^ *wags tail* and something I kinda learned about furries is they don't always represent the most admirable people. The furry subculture is based on an art style called Yiffy, which is a form of drawing, and writing stories, music, etc, that involves personified animals, such as my self ^^ Secondlife is an awesome place where now, we as players, can set up our avatars to look and act out what we call our fursonas, how we view ourselves as a personified, or even, a feral animal.

The artwork tends to be mature, so alot of furries in game only use the game as a place to get thier rocks off. and well, you wouldn't truly be a furry if you didn't take part in that somehow, however, there's alot of furries that take it too far, and that's all they want to talk about and do in the game.

For me, Kaia has always been a refuge from that. The residents I have met, usually humans, have been very smart, and sweet to me and that's awesome to see in a place where furries and humans don't always get along. I've met a ton of really great people from different countries al over our great world, and even though they don't know why I'm an animal, they've always treated me as a person, and I wanna thank everyone for that.

Sometimes the furry sims just seem so superficial, and it's nice to know I can always just go home, to Kaia, walk the streets, and if I was to meet someone on my constitutional, chances are they're really kewl, and won't be trying to get into my pants, lol.

Now I'm headed to Iraq, in real life, and it's nice to be able to blog here, and keep in touch with everyone, so hey, feel free to respond or just send messages to me on my email Mykidog@animail.net.

Well, I gotta get to formation, so I will hopefully talk to all of you later and tell you all stories of my "adventure" in iraq ^,..,^

Kaia....A Second Life Community...A First Class Lifestyle.....

Welcome to Kaia Estates and KaiaGaia's Blog! I admit I am new to blogs......but so much goes on at Kaia and in Second Life that I thought it would be good for residents, clients and friends to read about it :-)

So to kick off.......I expect you are all wondering........ 'Meggie? What is 'Kaia'?'

So here we go - The Meaning of Kaia...

Kaia Kaia is a name originated from greek. Meaning of Kaia is "from the earth " and is mostly used for female gender.

Kaia Kaia is a name originated from hawaiian. Meaning of Kaia is "the sea "......

The name encompasses the two main elements of Second Life....If you have visited the Kaia Islands you will know how important the land and water are to me. Without the terraformed landscape Kaia wouldn't be as beautiful, serene and relaxing as it is. My aim is to provide Kaia residents with a place where they can chill at the end of a long RL day, a virtual breath of calming fresh air. A place they know is safe and secure and yes, that little bit exclusive and special......

I hope if you read this blog and you are already lucky enough to be a Kaia resident it will give you the low-down on your community.....and if you aren't a 'Kaian' but now you are curious please visit us and see it for yourself....
